Peer Health Development TrustThe PHD Trust was established in 1992 to provide services to youth and their families affected by intergenerational substance (alcohol & drug) abuse, violence and economic issues.Our organisation focuses on developing: peer support, youth leadership, parenting skills and support the reduction of family violence, crime prevention projects, tagging and helping youth to make good choices in the context of their histories, living environment, personalities and cultural norms. What we do: We co-ordinate peer support & youth leadership programmes for youth nominated or selected from whanau, schools, churches, Maori, Pacific Island networks so that they can in turn offer support to their own peer groups and whanau. We also help and mentor youth to participate more fully in our political and civic processes, develop educational resources such as YZUP through the medium of Edutainment.
