The Ditchburn family emigrated here from
England
three and a half years ago. Dad (Gowan) was offered a
teaching role at Waiuku
College hence whey they came to New Zealand and settled in
Waiuku. Mum (Anne) has had various part time jobs whilst here
including teachers aide and school receptionist.
Their two children, James (13) and Abi (7) attend
View
Road School
and participate in local sports and social clubs.
Both
children have special needs. The whole family does Tae Kwon
Do and Anne does Pilates. Anne says the town was very easy to
become a part of, helped largely by having small children.
Friends she made through kindy when they first arrived have been a great support
network.
The family goes to Botany every couple of months for shopping
or movies and love to take weekends and holidays out of town sightseeing but
they live, work, play and socialise mainly in Waiuku which works well for them.
